Bazaar M was founded in 2011 by Hicham Akbour. With his background as a tour manager, Hicham is quite familiar with the various and distinct regions of Morocco, as well as the quality of the Moroccan handicrafts.

"I founded Bazaar M after more than 20 years as a licensed tour guide in Morocco, a role that allowed me to experience the country in depth and over time, beyond the obvious routes and familiar narratives.
Traveling extensively across Morocco — from the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara, from coastal towns to historic cities — I developed a deep understanding of what each region naturally excels in. This understanding extends beyond craftsmanship to materials and products that have long been part of local traditions, valued for their purity and provenance...
...Years of close interaction with artisans, cooperatives, and local communities sharpened my eye for detail, proportion, materials, and finish. They also shaped a way of working that values discretion, consistency, and respect for process as much as the final result.
Bazaar M emerged from this perspective. Each request is approached with care and precision, allowing time for dialogue, selection, and refinement. My role is to accompany each project from its earliest stages through final coordination, ensuring that every piece or product is sourced with intention, integrity, and a quiet sense of quality."
